- Sheet name:
periods of time in which collections were registered at ITS
- vor 1955 (before 1955)
- 5.55-9.74 (between May 1955 and September 1974)
- 9.74-4.87 (between September 1974 and April 1987)
- 5.87-10.94 (between May 1987 and October 1994)
- inventur ab 95 (between 1995 and 1999)
- Inventarnummer 6.2000 (after June 2000)
- Sachdokumente (a small section of miscellaneous historical collections)
- Inventory number/Inventarnummer: arbitrarily assigned number for inventory processing purposes
- Description: brief summary of the contents of the file
- Source institution: what organization or individual deposited the materials, or what is the source archive of copies of documentation held elsewhere
- Names/Namen: number of victim names that appear in the collection
- Accession date/Eingangsdatum: date the collection was registered at ITS

- Document type/ArtQuelle: indicates whether the documents in the collection are original or copies. Some "copies" that exist at ITS are in fact "original copies," that is, the only known examples of the documents in question.

- ITS file location/Abgelegt unter (ITS): the physical location where the collection is filed at the ITS archives in Bad Arolsen
- Bezeichnung: brief summary of the contents of the file
- Herkunft: what organization or individual deposited the materials, or what is the source archive of copies of documentation held elsewhere
- Number of pages/Blätterkarten: number of pages in the collection
- Carded/Verkartet: a notation made on occasion, but not consistently, to indicate that the names in the collection had been entered into the Central Name Index
